Hi! I’m Cassie.
In fall 2024 I started writing, very sparingly, on Substack. I’d dabbled with a personal blog in the past and thought it was better to start somewhere than nowhere. Fast forward to the summer of 2025 when I realized my small book reviewing Instagram account (@eclectically.bookish.cassie) was becoming more wearisome than fun. I decided to launch a website to combine my reflective writing and my book reviewing all in one space. It was an utter failure—or not—because in doing so, I realized that even in slowing down I was still moving too fast, juggling too much, and trying too hard. I shut down the website 4 months in, imported my (few) blogs to Substack, and committed to being here.
I write about faith, family, spirituality, and grief at Toward the Light and I write monthly reading wrap-ups and blab about all things bookish at Eclectically Bookish.
